Swim - 1 lap of 400m

The placement of the swim course will be determined by the weather and sea conditions on the day. The course may be moved slightly or the direction reversed dependant upon tides and wind direction The water will be cool. Wetsuits will be compulsory. If you get into difficulty remember you will not sink in a wetsuit. Keep calm and keep breathing, if you need assistance raise an arm in the air towards one of the kayaks. They will come over to you and give you advice. Do not attempt to climb onto the kayak.

The swim exit will be set as near as possible to the new transition area.

You may want a towel in transition to rub the sand from your feet.

Cycle Route 15.9k = 4 laps on fully closed roads

The team and individual races are both draft legal. This is a completely new cycle course but will be on fully closed roads. It is not practical for us to count your laps and communicate to you how many you have done. Zero your speedo and when you have done over 12k or 7.5 miles you are on your last lap.

It is a draft legal race but safety is still paramount. Ride to the left hand side of the road and overtake slower riders on the right only. Take extra care on the corners and be aware that there may be faster riders approaching at speed.

ALL MARSHALS ARE ASSISTANT RACE OFFICIALS. IF THEY CONSIDER THAT YOU ARE RIDING DANGEROUSLY THEY WILL REPORT IT TO THE OVERALL RACE OFFICIAL. THERE IS ONLY ONE SANCTION FOR DANGEROUS RIDING - DISQUALIFICATION.

Team Race - You should nominate your order of runners prior to the race. When all 3 team members have dismounted from the cycle section the team may then enter transition and the nominated first runner racks their bike, changes shoes if necessary then sets off on the run route. The first runner must not be assisted by other team members. The second and third runners should prepare themselves for their runs and make their way to the run change-over point next to transition.

Individual Race - On completion of the cycle section, run/walk into the transition are and rack your bike before unfastening your helmet, put running shoes on if necessary and then set off on the run course.
