Ripon Tri – The NYP Tri ‘Black Sheep’ Ripon Triathlon POST RACE BBQ

Once again the Post Race BBQ and ‘event party’ will be hosted by Fryton Catering Company working in partnership with NYP Tri Club. The 2008 party was a huge success with well over 300 competitors, marshals, event organisers, friends and family enjoying a superb high quality meal in fantastic surroundings.

The BBQ will include 6 Oz Yorkshire reared sirloin steaks, finest pork sausages supplied by Perns of Helmsley and locally made beef burgers. All the above will be served with freshly baked buns with a choice of horse radish dressing, english mustard and tomato sauce. There will also be a large selection of salads including potatoe salad, chunky coleslaw, cherry tomatoes, mixed bean salad, green salad and baked potatoes.
This will be followed by a large selection of delicious home made desserts to include summer fruit roulade, profiteroles and summer fruit tart.

Remember campers, motorhomes and caravans are welcome FREE of charge over the entire race weekend and all facilities including hot showers and toilets are also provided FREE of charge by the organisers. Fryton Catering will also be on hand to serve light refreshments including home made pasties, sandwiches, cakes, crisps, chocolate, teas and coffees and much, much more throughout the weekend. They will also once again be selling their popular freshly made bacon and sausage breakfast buns on both Saturday and Sunday morning.

A drinks license at the venue means that we can offer our race sponsors finest Black Sheep Ale as well as red and white wines to accompany your meal. A large variety of soft drinks will also be on sale.

Full Vegetarian and Vegan options are available by answering the ‘ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS’ on the booking form or by booking direct with the Event Director.

Food will be available earlier in 2009 for those families needing to get home. Early meals will commence at 6.30 PM and the BBQ will then run on through the evening. Once again there will be a bouncy castle and games for the kids and we also hope to introduce evening face painting in 2009. In addition the Event Organisers are looking into the possibilities for live music or a small outside disco. Once again we have worked hard with the caterers in keping the cost down despite rising food prices. You simply will not get a better value for money meal at any race venue in the UK or for that matter anywhere in the world!

Prices are an incredible: £10 for each Adult ticket and £5 for each child (under 12 on race day) plus a very small on line booking fee.

Forget the ‘billy can and kettle’, leave the BBQ in storage and don’t bother to pack the washing up liquid for pot washing! You don’t need to worry about such things at Ripon where all your needs are catered for at affordable prices. NYP Tri club work closely with the caterers to keep all prices at affordable, value for money rates so come along to Ripon, known in the Horse Racing world as ‘Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse’, and enjoy a fun packed weekend for all the family and possibly the best Triathlon in the region.
