Derwent Island Swim Results...
The swim today could only be classed as wet, the grass was wet, the
air was wet, the lake was wet! those that took part in the swim were
probably drier than those that stood and watched. 172 hardy souls took
part in a revised 2 lap route which took you up to the island and along
the shore rather than right around it, due to the minimum water temperature
and cold weather. Thanks to all the marshals and kayakers and to Colin
Gardener and Sunpower Coffee for the hot drinks afterwards.
Keswick
Swim and Triathlons...
Our less hi tech thermometer registered 11.5degrees in Derwentwater
this afternoon. I have been in this afternoon and it was cold initially
but I soon got going. The swim will be going ahead but we are looking
to make it a two lap course in the bay between Crow Park and the island
so no-one will be too far out and if you are not comfortable you can
return to shore after one lap. At this stage triathlon swim will be
unaltered.

Exciting
new event for 2013 - Stockton Duathlon Festival

TriHard are delighted to announce that they are working
with Stockton-on-Tess Borough Council to bring a top quality duathlon
to the North of England. There will be three separate races; a complete
novice’s race, a sprint distance race and a standard distance
race. All three races will be on fully closed roads around the Town
Centre. The cycle course will be similar to that used in recent Stockton
Triathlons. It is a flat, fast and safe, multi-lap course which will
make for exciting racing, not only that but the venue and multi-lap
format make it very spectator friendly. The run sections will be along
the banks of the Tees taking in the Tees Barrage, the Millennium Bridge
and the spectacular Infinity Bridge.
Note the date; Sunday 21st April. Entries will be opening
on November 1st and further details

of people are asking about the briefing notes, they will be issued a
week before the event in order to cover as many last minute things as
possible, however in the meantime have a read through last years, not
that much has changed other than the additional safety measure of having
a rear light on the bike section. If you have nto yet got prepared with
your rear light or the full body cover, A1 Multisport have some great
deals for the entrants of the race, check out the below links..

Triathlon update...For those of you that did A Day in
the Lakes this will be no surprise, but increased safety features are
being implemented for this years races. You already have to carry a

and drink for Helvellyn run leg, you will also be required to have a
working back light on your bike for the cycle section. This will be
checked when you go into transition.

have your chip taken from you and the marshals will not be in place
and the route may not be marked.

Female, Top 3 Female Vet, 1st Female Super Vet.
A
Day in the Lakes... A great day in the end though perhaps
the race should be called a Lake in the Day given the quantity of showers
we had and there was perhaps more water on the run than there was on
the swim. Well done all who took part and many thanks to all the marshals
and sponsors who made the day possible. Provisional results are available
.
Photos by available soon
Redcar
Triathlon 2012 ....Regrettably this event has
had to be cancelled for 2012 because of the on-going major coastal defence
works and Seafront development scheme. All the works should
be completed early next year and 2013 should see the Redcar Sprint Triathlon
back on Redcar and Cleveland Council have been fantastically supportive
in this venture and have done everything possible to make the race happen
this year. However the situation on the seafront is too fluid to make
any effective planning possible. If you have already paid your entry
fee it will of course be refunded in full, alternatively you can transfer
your entry to either the Lakeland Standard Distance Tri on August 18th
2012 or carry your entry over to the 2013 Redcar Sprint tri.
Keswick
updated results 30/5... Long Race updated results .
Short results now stand
A
Day in the Lakes... Latest Date for ordering t-shirts
for A Day in the Lakes Tri is Friday 24th May.
Keswick
Mountain Festival Triathlon....More
sunshine today than the Lakes has seen in a few days, a bit late to
warm the water up much but the full distance race went ahead. Well Done
to all the competitors who took part, many thanks to the Marshals and
Sponsors who all endeavoured to make the race a fantasic experience
for you all. Here are the. Apologies to all in the short race,
due to an unintentional signage confusion between our run route and
the trail race route which took place immediately after ours a number
of runners in the early part of the field ended up taking the wrong
route back to the finish. Whilst we look into the impact this has had
on the overall placings and the fairest solution to this here are the
recorded finish times over the route you took in race number order.
A further update to this will be placed here on Wednesday.

Derwent Island Swim Results: 129 hardy souls took part
in today's swim, cool calm conditions were much nicer than last year,
sun's just out now so should warm the water up a fraction for the triathlon
tomorrow. Provisional swim results
A
Day in the Lakes... we are introducing an increaed safety
feature to A Day in the Lakes triathlon this year based on feedback
from competitors, motorists and the safety advisory group. All competitors
are to be prepared for poor weather conditions on both the bike section
and the run section. For the bike section all competitors will be required
to have a working back light on their bikes. On the run section all
competitors will be required to have prepared a race bag containing
full body cover - long arms and long legs, a map a compass and a whistle
and knowledge of how to use them. If weather conditions are poor you
will be told in the race breifing that this must be taken with you out
on the run and spot checks will be carried out around the course. You
will not be allowed into transition to rack your bike without both of
these.
 Stockton
Triathlon Festival 2012....There is still a
technical issue about water testing and limits in a moving body of water,
entries will open as soon as possible, in the meantime register your
interest via
and you will be emailed as soon as entries open.
Stokesley
Duathlon 2012.... Well that's the first TriHard

in the main race and 91 in the novice. The weather was superb and we
have booked the same for the rest of our events. Well done to all those
who took part and HUGE thank you to all of our sponsors and marshals.
