Saturday August 18th 20121500m SWIM - 40Km BIKE - 10Km RUN ENTRIES NOW OPEN The third running of this Lakeland event. A collaboration between Tri Lakeland Triathlon Club and TriHard Events, it will be over the Standard or Olympic Distance. The course is far more conventional than many of the other Lakeland races. The cycle and run are both on road and are described as no more than undulating. The race is based at the beautifully located Bassenthwaite Sailing Club which has fantastic facilities on site. Only 8 miles from Keswick just off the A66. The start time is a very user friendly Saturday 1pm, plenty of accommodation and camping nearby so no need to dash home for work the next morning.
The Race HQ and transition area will be in the grounds of the Sailing Centre. The swim will be a one lap swim in the lake from the slipway used by the boats. The bike route and run routes will be on the undulating roads around Bassenthwaite lake. A slight change from TriHard's usual Lakeland based Triathlons this will be more a traditional standard distance race. There will be a main open race together with a relay category (one swimmer, one cyclist, one runner). The race will be electronically timed by Race Timing Systems possibly the countries leading triathlon timing company. The race routes can be found on the links to the right.
